Bangkok Airways boasts Zhengzhou and Hangzhou its new Chinese horizons

Bangkok – Endeavoring forth an aggressive route expansion into China, Bangkok airways now kicks off its two newest non-stop air links from Bangkok to Zhengzhou (CGO), and Hangzhou (HGH) on April 19th and April 20th respectively.

Serviced by 162-seat Airbus 320 on both routes, Bangkok Airways operates a weekly service to Zhengzhou, while it does twice weekly to Hangzhou. To introduce the new routes, promotional round-trip airfares are available at 14,400 THB for Bangkok-Zhengzhou; and 15,000 THB for Bangkok-Hangzhou; until October 29th, 2005.

Leaving Bangkok every Tuesday, Bangkok Airways flies non-stop to Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province, with a perfect morning arrival at 06:00 am. As one of the most reputed tourist destinations in China, Zhengzhou is home of Bao Zheng, or the Lord of Kaifeng whose chronicle story of justice. Also, a ride on a scenic road is pleasurable as it takes only one and a half hour to reach the world’s renowned Shaolin Temple – the school of the famous Kung-fu martial art.

Apart from the fascinating Zhengzhou, Henan province also has a holy place called “Longman Grottoes Scenic Zone” in Luoyang. As one of the most beautiful carved grottoes in China, there are here a lot of Buddha images delicately carved in the rock to express the influence of Buddhism in China. On top of all, the gigantic Huangho River, alternatively known as the Yellow River that runs through the mainland of China, is undeniably an attraction that is key for Zhengzhou to become an important capital for tourism in Asia.

While Zhengzhou now becomes a new Chinese destination for Bangkok Airways, Hangzhou also deserves a place in the airline’s exotic destination portfolio.

Leaving Bangkok every Wednesday and Sunday, Bangkok Airways flies non-stop to Hangzhou with a pleasant morning arrival. Known for its natural charm, Hangzhou was praised by Marco Polo in 1230 as he called it “the finest, most splendid city in the world.” Attractions of Hangzhou also encompass cultural and architectural fascinations, for examples, the Tomb and Temple of Yue Fei – a tomb of a famous Chinese patriot of the Southern Song Dynasty, which is also famous amongst Chinese tourists.

Xiling Seal Engraving Society is known for seal-carving activity. It is located on the islet of Gushan Island. The purpose of the society is to encourage the practice of seal carving. Visitors can easily order their own seal. Wenlan Ge or the Pavilion for Storing Imperial Books is another must-see spot. It is located on the Gushan Island and was one of the seven imperial libraries in the Qing Dynasty. For museum aficionado, Zhejiang Provincial Museum has on display the copies of ancient stone-engraved maps of Hangzhou, wood block illustrations of the Ten Prospects, the brick from the Leifeng Pagoda, 7000-year-old cultivated rice, the skeleton of a whale beached in Zhejiang that bought bad luck, silk-making technology and much more.
