2005
EXPO REAL is doing its bit to support the up-and-coming generation of real-estate professionals by organising a special CareersDay at the fair. Together with the trade journal Immobilien Zeitung, EXPO REAL, the 8th International Commercial Real Estate Exposition, is inviting students to come along on Wednesday, 12 October 2005, to meet representatives from real-estate companies, make new contacts and find out about education, training and careers opportunities in the field.
The CareersDay will be opened by its patron, Jurgen Ehrlich, President of ‘Mit einer Stimme’, a joint initiative sponsored by the German real estate industry. The programme continues with an address on globalisation, outlining experiences of international business in the sector. This is followed by a panel discussion on the subject of social competence, with experienced company personnel directors. Young managers then have the chance to engage in a discussion session on the subject of ‘Forming networks – the earlier the better’.
Finally Albert Engelhardt of Immobilien Zeitung will present the results of a survey of companies and students called ‘Jobs Offensive 2005’, an extensive analysis of the employment market in the real-estate sector. Students attending the CareersDay also have the chance of winning half-day training sessions on successful application techniques.
During EXPO REAL, there will also be a special college stand featuring presentations from 17 respected higher-education institutions. The aim is to set up contact between companies in the sector and the next generation of real-estate managers. “Know-how transfer will take place at EXPO REAL not only horizontally, between established experts, but also vertically, between working professionals and students. EXPO REAL is also an important platform for education,” says the exhibition director of EXPO REAL, Claudia Boymanns.
At the website of EXPO REAL, www.exporeal.net, is a Jobs Corner which lists vacancies advertised by the companies exhibiting at the fair.
EXPO REAL student tickets are available only for Wednesday, 12 October 2005, upon presentation of a valid student identity card. Student tickets cost 35 euros and can be bought at the ticket desks at the fair, or alternatively in advance from the HAWK Fachoberschule Hildesheim/Holzminden/G?ttingen, Fax: 05531/126157, e-mail: bruehl@hawk-hhg.de (order by 16 September).
